About
Our story and concept
How it started
Tango Rouge is a Berlin-based tango community bringing people together on the dance floor since 2013 — starting as Milonga Popular, a project born to introduce people to Argentine tango.
That original spirit kept growing. Today, Tango Rouge is a wider tango project in Berlin that includes:
-
La Viruta Berlin and Tango University — our tango festivals
-
Milonga Popular — Relaxed weekly tango party that combines beginner-friendly classes with an energetic social dance scene.
-
Tango Bizarre — Flamboyant weekly kinky tango party that blends argentin tango with classes, performances, nightlife, and an eccentric dress code.
Tango as a social idea
Inspired by La Viruta and Zona Tango in Buenos Aires, we aim to connect learning and dancing with a social and welcoming culture. We want to dance together, with joy and no pressure. A dance floor open to everyone, wherever you are on your tango journey, from complete beginners to experienced dancers.
More than a dance — a social gathering
Tango is for us a social idea: a place to relax, chill, and connect. It doesn't matter how long you have been dancing, you're welcome! That's the whole idea — tango belongs to everyone, and Tango Rouge is where we bring that spirit to life, milonga after milonga.
